Legal centre
I’ll keep this clear.
I’m Emma. Legal pages are not the most exciting part of hospitality, but trust matters. Here you can see what this website does, what it does not do, how content may be used and when I need to pass you to a qualified specialist.

1. Website operator
This website is operated under the Dinewise® name by Dinewise — Management & Consulting, Ireland. You can contact us at info@dinewise.ie or on 089 948 1299.
Venues using the EMMA suite (dashboard, EMMA Trains, Menu Builder) are also covered by the Terms of Use for Venues.
Where a formal engagement begins, the proposal, statement of work, invoice or service agreement will identify the contracting party, scope, price and any additional terms that apply.
2. Using this website
You may use this website for lawful business and informational purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with the site, bypass security, scrape or reproduce substantial parts of the Knowledge Bank, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, or submit material you have no right to share.
The website may change as Dinewise® develops its services. We may update, suspend or withdraw features, assessments or content without guaranteeing permanent availability.
3. Operational guidance is not specialist advice
Dinewise® content is based on hospitality experience, structured assessments and professional judgement. It is intended to support better questions and business decisions; it is not a substitute for advice tailored by a suitably qualified professional.
Nothing on this website is legal, tax, accounting, investment, employment, medical, engineering, fire-safety or food-safety advice. Compliance duties vary by business, activity and location. Always obtain appropriate specialist advice where the consequences are significant.
4. Emma, questionnaires and automated guidance
Emma is the Dinewise® hospitality guide and the first-person voice of the site. Some responses are generated from programmed pathways, keywords, answer rules and the Shrink Smart™ Knowledge Bank. They are designed to acknowledge what you have told us, explain why a question matters and suggest a sensible next step.
Emma does not independently verify your information and may misunderstand incomplete, ambiguous or unusual input. Her outputs are indicative, not findings of fact, certifications, guarantees or professional opinions.

“I know enough to recognise when something deserves attention. When it is above my pay grade, I’ll say so and point you towards the right specialist.”
5. Forms, answers, photographs and uploads
Only submit information you are entitled to share. Do not upload unnecessary personal data, payment-card details, passwords, medical information, confidential employee records or material that identifies guests or staff unless a secure, agreed process has been provided for that purpose.
The current demonstration questionnaire operates locally in your browser unless a page expressly tells you otherwise. A contact form, email or future account feature may transmit information to Dinewise® or its service providers; the Privacy Notice explains the relevant processing.
You remain responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of information you provide. Where you submit your own content, you retain ownership but grant Dinewise® permission to use it as reasonably necessary to answer your request or provide the agreed service.
6. Copyright, trademarks and permitted use
Unless stated otherwise, the website design, wording, assessments, question structures, Shrink Smart™ Knowledge Bank, reports, graphics, photographs, videos and other content are owned by or licensed to Dinewise® and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.
You may view pages and print or save a reasonable copy for your own internal business use. You may not sell, republish, train another commercial system on, systematically extract, remove branding from, or create a competing database from the content without written permission.
Dinewise® and Shrink Smart™ are used as brand identifiers. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply endorsement.
7. External links and third-party services
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Dinewise® does not control their content, security, availability, privacy practices or contractual terms. Review the third party’s own policies before using its service or sharing information.
8. Accuracy, availability and liability
We aim to keep the website useful and accurate, but hospitality practice, prices, technology and law change. Content may contain errors or become outdated. The site is provided without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every business.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dinewise® is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general website content or an indicative automated response. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor does it remove any mandatory consumer or statutory rights.
9. Cookies and browser storage
This current site build does not intentionally activate advertising, behavioural tracking or third-party analytics cookies, and we do not harvest or sell personal data. Browser storage is used for two specific things only: an anonymous, session-only counter so Emma's occasional messages don't repeat themselves (clears when you close the tab), and remembering your progress if you actively start a questionnaire or full audit, so you can resume it later or on another device. Neither runs unless you're using the relevant feature, and neither shares anything with a third party.
Essential storage does not require a marketing choice because it supports a function you request. If analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking is introduced, it must remain off until a valid consent choice has been made, and withdrawing consent must be as easy as giving it.
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser's own settings.
10. Governing law
Unless a separate contract says otherwise, these website terms are governed by Irish law and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. This does not remove any mandatory rights or jurisdiction available to a consumer under applicable law.
11. Changes
We may update this Legal Centre and the Privacy Notice as the site and services develop. The date at the top shows the latest published version.
12. Questions or concerns
Email info@dinewise.ie or call 089 948 1299. If the question needs legal or regulatory interpretation, we may recommend that you speak to a suitably qualified adviser.
